We are now offering safeguarding awareness courses in Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Wimbledon as well as the rest of Sussex, Surrey and London.

Protecting and safeguarding the welfare of children placed within your care has to be paramount to becoming a successful and competent childcare worker.

Our interactive safeguarding and child protection workshops are designed to help people who come into contact with or work with children understand how to spot and respond to child abuse as well as highlighting the next steps which need to be taken in order to further safeguard the child from harm.

Who should attend a safeguarding workshop?

Anyone who has contact with children and/or young people, including: parents, Early Years professionals, childcare practitioners, baby professionals, school staff, church workers, voluntary workers, play leaders, youth workers, community workers, sports coaches etc. Note: As this safeguarding / child protection workshop underpins national occupational standards for Early Years and play work practitioners it’s perfect for training school staff and inset days.

How long does the workshop take?

We offer 2 options:

3 hour basic safeguarding awareness workshop

This is great for parents and professionals wanting a basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues and learn what to do if they had a concern about a child they come into contact with. This is available currently only as an 'in house' course.

One-day safeguarding awareness training

This workshop covers all of the above in more depth and also covers organisational responsibilities in relation to safeguarding. This is also suitable for parents and professionals. This is available currently only as an 'in house' course.

Where does it take place?

We have open courses in Brighton and Hove and also can run workshops at a choice of venues across the Southeast of England.

How much does it cost?

Basic safeguarding awareness (3.5 hours)

  • At your own workplace/venue in Sussex - £420 inc VAT for up to 12 participants.
  • At our venue in Hove - £48pp

Safeguarding training (1 day/ 7.5 hours)

  • At your own workplace/venue in Sussex - £800 inc VAT for up to 12 participants.
