Anaphylaxis and Epipen Training (2 - 3 hours)

This course is designed to teach participants to recognise the signs and symptoms associated with Anaphylaxis and also the safe administration of epinepharine via an Epipen prescribed to a specific patient.

3. ★Priorities of First Aid
   

4. ★Airway and Breathing Management
   

5. ★Definition of Anaphylaxis
   

6. ★Triggering factors for Anaphylaxis
   

7. ★Recognition of signs and symptoms associated with Anaphylaxis
   

8. ★First aid treatment/management plan for anaphylaxis
   

9. ★Administration of Adrenaline Epi-pen auto injector with a child or adult
   

10. ★Creating a child/ adult specific protocol
    

Course Assessment

Competency assessed through participant’s demonstration of practical resuscitation skills and practical demonstration of the administration of the Epi-pen auto injector with the use of a training auto injector.

Certification

Certificate of Attendance - current for a period of 12 months

Anyone working in setting where clients or staff may/ or suffer from Anaphylaxis: nursery, school, play groups, after school clubs, child minders, offices etc....
