Anaphylaxis and Epi-pen Training (2 hours)
The Workshop
This workshop is designed to teach participants to recognise the signs and symptoms associated with Anaphylaxis and also the safe administration of epinepharine via an Epi-pen prescribed to a specific patient.
Course Outline:

★How they effect the body

★Definition of anaphylaxis

★Triggering factors for anaphylaxis

★Recognition of signs and symptoms associated with anaphylaxis

★First aid treatment/management plan for anaphylaxis

★Prevention in the child care setting

★Administration of epinepharine with Epi-pen auto injector.
Course Duration:
2 hours

Competency assessed through participant’s practical demonstration of the administration of the Epi-pen auto injector with the use of a training auto injector.
Certification:
Certificate of Attendance - current for a period of 12 months.
Who should attend:
Anyone working in setting where clients or staff may/ or suffer from Anaphylaxis: nursery, school, play groups, after school clubs, child minders, offices etc....

This course can be run in your venue for up to 16 staff (offer for 12 but additional number can be added at extra cost) or we can provide a venue, open dates also planned for Hove.
All courses are taught by Paediatric Nurses
