Baby and Child First Aid Course

for Parents, Grandparents and

Carers in South Wimbledon,

Classes cover what do if a baby or

child is choking, not breathing or

unconscious, first responder actions

for common accidents and injuries, recognising high risk signs of illness and assessing the injured or ill child.

The courses are specifically designed to teach parents, grandparents and carers basic life saving and first aid techniques. These are  approximately 3 hour sessions and have a max. of 8-10 participants.

This course will cover:

1. ★  How to deal with choking in a baby, child or adult
   

2. ★  The recovery position
   

3. ★  Basic Life support on babies, children and adults.
   

4. ★  Accident prevention with young children
   

The course will also cover (time permitting) how to manage:

1. ★  Burns and Scalds
   

2. ★  Poisoning
   

3. ★  Ingestion
   

4. ★  Foreign Objects
   

5. ★  Head Injuries
   

6. ★  Febrile Convulsions and Fits
   

7. ★  Recognising Meningitis
   

8. ★  Essential information about safety in
   

     the home and garden

Duration: 3 hours

You will have with ample opportunity to practice life saving techniques in a friendly and non threatening environment. Great for parents, carers, nannies, grand parents and anyone else caring for a babies and children.

Cost: £55pp

Includes 3 hours of tuition, Paediatric First Aid Manual,  Accident Prevention Checklist and Certificate of Attendance

Bring Your Baby Sessions

Our Venue, South Wimbledon Community Centre is baby friendly and you can ‘Bring Your Baby’ if you wish however you may find it easier to concentrate without. This gives parents the option to bring baby along if child care is an issue however if you would like to attend these sessions without your baby that’s OK as well. Please check when booking.
